Internships at Avalere take many different forms. Each Intern is assigned to a Practice area, where he or she will gain exposure to a variety of client work. Avalere’s Internship Program invites applications from students in all levels of higher education. In the summer, internships can span ten to twelve weeks. During the school year, internships can last a full semester. Given the collaborative nature of our firm, Interns will be working with all levels of Avalere professionals. They will benefit from the knowledge and experience of subject matter experts across all industries within healthcare. Our internship opportunities are as varied as our business, and allow a student to better understand the breadth of Avalere’s work.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Specific projects and tasks for each Intern vary greatly, based on the assigned Practice area. Some Avalere Practices have a more qualitative focus, where one would develop his or her research and writing skills, while other practices have a scientific or quantitative emphasis. Internships within specific Practices are need-based, and will be specified on Avalere’s website. All Interns will be assigned a manager and a peer buddy who will help to guide the Intern’s development opportunities and learning experience during their time on-board.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in healthcare and policy, and a desire to apply his or her education to complex, real-world matters. The level of education desired for our internships varies between Practice areas. Please reference the individual job descriptions to better understand where your background might fit.
