Project Management Office, Product Operations Lead

Avalere Health is seeking a Manager-level project management specialist to join its Data Analytics and Software Development team. This team works with all sectors of the health care policy and business marketplace (e.g., providers, health insurers, government, financial services, life sciences). This candidate will be focused on technology enabled data analytics products as part of the Project Management Office (PMO) dedicated to providing holistic reporting on the profitability, efficiency, risks, and road map planning.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key source of information on risks, opportunities, and issues for Avalere‚Äôs technology enabled, data-driven products for executive prioritization and decision making

  • Leads development of master inventory of all ongoing product activities, to cover major roadmap items (release dates, go live dates, beta tests, UI & UX tests)
  • Manages new product ideation process by soliciting product ideas from product and consulting staff, looking for common themes, and working with the product team to further develop those themes
  • Work closely with other PMO colleagues to ensure allocation of staff time across products and traditional consulting projects are well coordinated
  • Provides interpretation and analysis on financial metrics related to product success, such as gross margin, revenue, net promotor scores, etc, to support product manager and executive decision-making
  • Supports other needs within the PMO as necessary

Skills, Experience, and Other Job Related Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, as well as 4+ years experience in project management 

  • 2+ years experience with product management in a technology company, preferably experience within a project management office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel, Visio, and MS project skills
  • Ability to influence team members of all levels (Executives to junior Analyst) and work successfully in a matrixed environment
  • Project management style must be evidenced based and flexible, designed to drive teams to be high performing, challenged, and efficient

Additional Skills & Competencies:

  • MBA or other relevant management training or certifications (PMP, Scrum Master, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of innovative tools for project and task management (Trello, Asana, etc)
