Avalere Welcomes Senior Healthcare Advisor

Wendy Everett, ScD, joins Avalere as a senior advisor

With a breadth of healthcare experience spanning several decades, Dr. Wendy Everett joins Avalere as a senior advisor.  "A keen navigator of the policy environment, Wendy has created long-term solutions that improve healthcare quality while being mindful of costs," said Nancy McGee, executive vice president of Avalere.  "Wendy complements our accomplished team of Senior Advisors – Dr. Sheila Fifer, Randel Richner, and Rick Smith – with her extensive experience leading ground-breaking research on medical innovation, patient safety, healthcare spending and healthcare information technology, which has influenced significant national policy changes." 


Chosen to oversee the formation of the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation (NEHI) in 2002 as its first president and named Chief Executive Officer in 2014, Dr. Everett created, evaluated, and enabled the adoption of new health innovations.  Dr. Everett now serves as a Special Advisor to NEHI where she leads NEHI's initiatives for the Global Lab for Health and the Nick Littlefield Fellowship. In addition, she is the Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission, an independent state agency that monitors the reform of the healthcare delivery and payment systems in Massachusetts. Dr. Everett also serves on the boards of many philanthropic foundations and non-profit organizations. Previously, Dr. Everett held executive positions at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She has directed national demonstration programs for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Kaiser Family Foundation, earned two bachelor of science degrees, and holds master’s and doctoral degrees in health policy and management from Harvard University.
