Kristi Mitchell, Senior Vice President, leads client engagements involving the use of clinical data for strategic decision-making across multiple industries, including life sciences, health plans, and professional societies. In this capacity, she provides strategic guidance for innovative collection and utilization of data, as well as, oversees the diffusion of best practice in quality measurement development, implementation, and evaluation across multiples industries.
Prior to joining Avalere, Kristi worked at the American College of Cardiology (ACC), leading the development of the National Cardiovascular Data Registry, most recently as the Chief Science Officer. Prior to the ACC, she assessed the impact of public health policies, programs, and practices on health outcomes at Battelle Centers for Public Health Policy and Evaluation and at the Institute for Health Policy Studies at the University of California, San Francisco.
Kristi has an AB in Human Biology and Public Policy from Brown University and a MPH in Public Health Policy Administration and Epidemiology from University of Michigan. She sits on the FDA MDEpiNet Interim Advisory Committee and the Pew Trust Future of Medical Device Registry Stakeholder Group.
Judit Illes, Manager, advises clients on the implications of trends in evidence-based medicine, healthcare quality improvement, and performance measurement. Judit has expertise in Alzheimer’s disease and experience working on quality of care issues faced by individuals with psychiatric and neurological disorders.
Prior to joining Avalere, Judit served as a Research Consultant at Hearthstone Alzheimer Care for an NIH-funded study testing a non-pharmacological intervention for people with dementia. As a graduate student at Columbia University, Judit conducted research on the pivotal role of environmental design features in long-term care settings for delivering person-centered care.
Judit earned her Bachelor of Civil Law and Bachelor of Laws from McGill University and her Masters of Science in Bioethics from Columbia University.
Nelly Ganesan, Senior Director, advises clients on the implications of quality-related healthcare policies, including but not limited to: public and private quality reporting programs, value-based care and payment and delivery models. Nelly also has special expertise in care models focused on CMS’ Triple Aim: Better Care, Better Health, and Lower Costs and the use of patient-reported outcomes.
Nelly has been with the firm since 2011, prior to joining Avalere, Nelly spent six years at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement focused on population health and hospital-based quality improvement.
Nelly has a BS in Economics from the University of Oregon and a MPH in Epidemiology and International Health from Boston University.
Angel Valladares, Manager, provides research and analytic support for clients within the field of evidence-based medicine and healthcare quality measurement and improvement. Angel has experience in quality measure feasibility and development specifically as it relates to electronic clinical quality measures, as well as experience in patient-centered outcomes research, qualitative and quantitative research, program evaluation, and the design and implementation of clinical research studies.
Prior to joining Avalere, Angel was a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan’s School of Nursing; designing, implementing and managing an NIH-funded research grant which lead to several peer-reviewed publications. The objective of the project was to develop an innovative virtual platform for delivering evidence-based training to clinicians in a variety of disciplines and professions. Through his training he has harnessed skills and knowledge around population health and epidemiology, statistical and survey methodology, health communications delivery and healthcare policy analysis.
Angel received an MPH from the University of Michigan and a BS in Biological Science and Anthropology from Florida State University.
