Kristi Mitchell

Senior Vice President


Kristi Mitchell, Senior Vice President, leads client engagements involving the use of clinical data for strategic decision-making across multiple industries, including life sciences, health plans, and professional societies. In this capacity, she provides strategic guidance for innovative collection and utilization of data, as well as, oversees the diffusion of best practice in quality measurement development, implementation, and evaluation across multiples industries.

Prior to joining Avalere, Kristi worked at the American College of Cardiology (ACC), leading the development of the National Cardiovascular Data Registry, most recently as the Chief Science Officer. Prior to the ACC, she assessed the impact of public health policies, programs, and practices on health outcomes at Battelle Centers for Public Health Policy and Evaluation and at the Institute for Health Policy Studies at the University of California, San Francisco.

Kristi has an AB in Human Biology and Public Policy from Brown University and a MPH in Public Health Policy Administration and Epidemiology from University of Michigan. She sits on the FDA MDEpiNet Interim Advisory Committee and the Pew Trust Future of Medical Device Registry Stakeholder Group.

Kelsey Jones



Kelsey Jones, Director, advises clients on evidence generation and communication activities (with a particular focus on comparative effectiveness research), quality measure use, and performance improvement activities.  Kelsey has special expertise in translating evidence into quality and value messages and integrating the patient voice into product development and outcomes research.

Prior to joining Avalere, Kelsey interned at the Greater New York Hospital Association and served as a Roosevelt Scholars Teaching Assistant at the Roosevelt Institute.

Kelsey holds a BA in International Affairs and a MPA in Policy Analysis from the University of Georgia.

Joseph Lynch



Joseph Lynch, Director, supports clients through the use of clinical data for strategic decision-making. With a background in the use of clinically-enriched administrative data and data derived from clinicians and patients, he assists clients with using clinical data for strategic decision making, implementation of local quality improvement efforts, and development of business strategies to support data collection and integration across health care settings. Joseph has special expertise in designing and implementing patient registries and developing and validating performance measures.

Prior to joining Avalere, Joseph was a Director at Remedy Informatics where he managed the design and implementation of CV clinical registries as well as developed and validated registry-based performance measures for quality reporting and research.  Prior to that, Joseph held Senior Director positions at Inovalon where his contributions ranged from managing strategic application of EHR initiative capabilities to support expansion of ACO and HIE capabilities within the organization to consulting with professional societies in designing, implementing and maintaining clinical registries.  

Joseph has an Associate of Arts, Nursing, from Montgomery College and is a Registered Nurse.

Nelly Ganesan

Senior Director


Nelly Ganesan, Senior Director, advises clients on the implications of quality-related healthcare policies, including but not limited to: public and private quality reporting programs, value-based care and payment and delivery models. Nelly also has special expertise in care models focused on CMS’ Triple Aim: Better Care, Better Health, and Lower Costs and the use of patient-reported outcomes. 

Nelly has been with the firm since 2011, prior to joining Avalere, Nelly spent six years at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement focused on population health and hospital-based quality improvement. 

Nelly has a BS in Economics from the University of Oregon and a MPH in Epidemiology and International Health from Boston University.
