Associate, Account Relationship Management

Avalere Health is seeking an Associate to join the growing Life Sciences Account Relationship Management (ARM) team within our Client Solutions practice.

The Life Sciences ARM team oversees Avalere’s relationship and business with our established biopharma accounts. This Senior Associate position will support account management, business development, and administrative tasks related to the ongoing operation and growth of a client account. The Senior Associate will work with other ARM team members on individual accounts, engage with practice colleagues across the firm, and partner with enabling functions (e.g., Accounting, Finance) to support the accounts. He or she must be highly successful at building and maintaining these relationships. The ideal team member will have superior organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across multiple accounts/projects in a fast-paced and highly collaborative setting. In addition to account management responsibilities, this person will develop fluency in exciting healthcare issues and business strategy important to our clients.

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Help with the development of BD collateral (e.g., pitch decks)
  • Coordinate with multiple account teams and other Avalere staff to help identify and execute business development opportunities
  • Pro-actively anticipate customer needs based on market activity and guide firm investment in new areas
  • Conduct market intelligence to understand key competitors
  • Work with account teams to set quarterly and annual goals/metrics to assess progress

Account Relationship Management

  • Serves on account teams to support multiple (3–5) high-priority accounts
  • Participate on and help lead client calls and coordinate follow-up items
  • Ensure the update and use of systems like Salesforce.com and LinkedIn
  • Represent Avalere and build relationships with clients and prospective clients at venues selected to increase Avalere market visibility (e.g., professional conferences)
  • Help oversee and support ongoing projects for assigned accounts
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures, and mission statement
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s operating policies and procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the company
  • Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within the job function

Education Requirements

  • BS/BA degree (or equivalent)

  • Familiarity with healthcare issues and the life sciences industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, highly professional presence, ability to interact with senior clients and colleagues

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time)
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force or negligible amount of force occasionally
  • Frequently or constantly lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects and engaging in repetitive motions
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions
  • Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally, usually for training purposes

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years of professional experience working within the healthcare or consulting industry
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives and work streams simultaneously (preferred)
