Business Development Pitch Manager, Sales Operations

Avalere is seeking a Manager to join the Sales Operations Group to lead development of capabilities presentations and proposal materials.

Avalere Health is a leading strategic advisory firm focused on the intersection of business strategy, research, and public policy. Located in Washington, DC, Avalere works with a diverse range of clients spanning Fortune 500 life science companies, health plans, government agencies, advocacy and patient groups, and other organizations who seek to improve the healthcare system.

The Sales Operations team supports Avalere’s business development processes and interfaces with all areas of the business. The Pitch Manager will work with Account Management teams to manage the preparation and execution of materials used in client pitches, ensuring that materials are aligned with customer needs. Avalere’s core clients include 15 of the top 15 Life Sciences companies, 22 of the top 25 health plans, many leading providers, and other important healthcare stakeholders. In addition, the Manager will track and monitor progress for pitch development across client portfolios and support Account Management teams in creating and adhering to internal timelines. The Manager will work closely with Marketing to maintain collateral that will be used in client outreach, with a focus on adherence to brand guidelines. This position is not client facing.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Account Management teams to assess potential clients’ strategic and operational challenges and matching them to Avalere services
  • Coordinate efforts between Account Teams and consulting staff to prepare capabilities presentations
  • Create capabilities presentations and proposals in PowerPoint for use by Account Teams in business development efforts
  • Develop and maintain templates and materials that describe firm services and capabilities
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to ensure that all materials are up to date and aligned with brand guidelines
  • Maintain schedule of pitch meetings, and track collateral and materials used in each
  • Create repository of pitch materials across firm offerings, updating materials in collaboration with Advisory Services practice areas
  • Provide insights from business development activities to inform future pitches

Experience Requirements

  • 3–6 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience using CRM tools

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining positive relationships with colleagues to achieve solutions-oriented goals
