Avalere Health is seeking a Consultant I/II to join its Commercialization and Reimbursement practice and help serve our life sciences clients.

As a client offering, Avalere’s Commercialization and Reimbursement practice integrates a strong communications focus as a foundation for building and launching substantive communications and marketing campaigns and help our clients more meaningfully engage with key audiences. Assignments range from providing strategic commercialization, reimbursement, and communications advisory services; to guiding messaging and positioning; to tailoring traditional, digital, and social media solutions. Example programs have focused on thought-leadership positioning, stakeholder and customer engagement, internal and external training and education, and public affairs and advocacy.

  • Responsible for providing exceptional customer service as project leader, managing multiple strategic customer engagement projects through delivery with client satisfaction
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills, detailed, and well organized

  • Collaborate with various subject-matter experts to initiate, develop, and deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Overall accountability for day-to-day administration of multiple client engagements, including solving complex client issues proactively, responding appropriately to client needs and requests, leading projects, identifying and providing clients with alternative solutions to requests and possible engagement plan adjustments, and acting as a liaison between the client and internal Avalere teams
  • Coordinate and facilitate client meetings, in-person or via teleconference; prepare materials, agendas, and presentations; and provide timely follow-up
  • Ability to develop an array of client--ready materials for both internal and external audiences, including written statements, papers, and presentations to provide strategic and tactical recommendations to top-tier healthcare clients
  • Conduct research for fact checking and landscape reviews on topics such as various therapeutic areas and competitive data
  • Initiate development of scopes of work, invoices, and other business documents
  • Provide design production support for client deliverables
  • Coordinate print and interactive production work with design team, content experts, and vendors

Skill Requirements

  • Ability to think creatively about clients’ customer engagement communications and design needs
  • Strong project and process management experience, including drafting scopes of work, developing and maintaining project budgets, and managing complex project timelines
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills both written and oral
  • Strong experience with communications campaigns
  • Highly motivated self-started with strong problem-solving skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to dive into new subject areas with enthusiasm
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook skills

Additional Skills and Competencies

  • Willingness to learn complex issues relating to healthcare policy and business

  • Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development
  • Beginning to intermediate proficiency with InDesign and Illustrator skills; other Creative Cloud programs a plus

Experience Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience performing the previously mentioned responsibilities in a communications or marketing agency or in a healthcare consulting firm
  • Extensive experience working effectively in teams, managing multiple complex projects, and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with life sciences clients in medical marketing advertising or communications is preferred
  • Experience with Medical, Legal, & Regulatory Review is preferred
  • One or more years of supervisory experience is preferred
