Consultant I/II, Quality and Value

Avalere Health is seeking a Consultant I/Consultant II to join its Center for Healthcare Transformation.

This team of experts works to enable next-generation healthcare delivery through quality, innovation, and payment reform. We work with every sector of the healthcare industry to help them prepare for—and succeed in—the evolving payment and delivery environment. This position will focus specifically on issues related to care delivery and the use of clinical data for healthcare quality improvement. This role will also be client facing and include opportunities for project management and execution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on quality, payment, and delivery reform and value issues impacting pharma/biotech, health plans, hospitals/health systems/physician groups, and patient advocacy groups
  • Support and assist in managing project teams to help solve complex client problems and engage clients with novel solutions and ideas
  • Work with a portfolio of clients to identify and deliver on business opportunities and projects that dovetail with Avalere’s expertise and offerings
  • Generate business with new clients and grow business with existing clients; create both strategic and tactical recommendations for clients depending on their business needs
  • Manage short- and long-term deliverables to ensure that all of Avalere’s knowledge and expertise are leveraged to meet client needs
  • Solve complex client issues in a timely and appropriate manner with attention to resources and minimal management oversight
  • Conceptualize, design, and execute—from start to finish—a broad range of client projects involving diverse, cross-functional, cross-practice teams
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s operating policies and procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the employer

Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements

Education Requirements

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in public policy, public health, public administration, business, statistics, economics, law, or other related field

Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of prevention (e.g., vaccines), health equity, social determinants of health, public health, population health issues, and quality improvement
  • Understanding of healthcare industry
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality work product
  • Ability to learn quickly and to work under pressure with quick timelines
  • Ability to lead and manage project teams
  • Ability to support 5–6 projects and effectively manage individual project tasks with a high level of quality
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to translate challenging concepts to a wide range of audiences
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organization and self-motivation skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to excel independently and as a team member in a collaborative environment

Experience Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant full-time work experience
  • Consulting experience preferred
