Avalere’s CHT Fellowship Program is small and highly selective. As a Fellow, participants will spend 6 months immersed in health and life science policy and strategy issues to help support the efforts of Avalere’s clients that include measurement, evidence, advocacy, education and strategic partnerships. This position is a full-time, paid fellowship ($25/hour), and Fellows will collaborate within our existing Center for Healthcare Transformation team to increase Avalere’s presence and visibility as experts and thought-leaders in the policy and quality space.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to quality and value, measurement, quality improvement, quality reporting programs within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, accountable care organizations, patient centered medical homes, digital health, innovative partnerships between life sciences, patient groups and medical societies, and novel evidence generation solutions.
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for life sciences professionals, who are transitioning into industry, the public sector, or consulting, to gain valuable knowledge of policy issues facing healthcare companies and associated considerations during research and development. Through the Fellowship, participants will develop the ability to frame issues and guide clients with their strategic policy responses. Career guidance and mentorship are built into the Fellowship, in addition to guidance on networking and career transitioning. The Fellowship is designed to provide relevant and recognized healthcare policy experience at a top tier firm.
Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements
- A doctoral level degree (e,g,, PhD, ScD, MD, DVM) in fields such as public health, health services research, quality measurement, and clinical degrees.
- The following degrees with a strong background in policy, clinical quality, and data will also be considered
- Juris Doctorate
- Master's in public health or public policy
