Senior Financial Analyst

Avalere is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support our dynamic Finance team.

The Manager of FP&A will be responsible for forecasting revenue, expense, and earnings for different functional groups within the company. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day analytical support to the business to inform decision making, analyze and make recommendations on operational issues, and support potential M&A opportunities and other corporate strategic initiatives. The Manager will also help revise and enhance FP&A's efficiency and effectiveness in its current business processes, and will help identify and develop additional capabilities to add more value to Inovalon's overall performance.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to monthly processes, including long range planning, monthly budget and forecasting
  • Provide FP&A support and financial analysis across functional organizations
  • Assist in developing the forecasting models for various departments
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual variance reporting to departments
  • Document and build simulations and perform analyses
  • Run simulations on various “what-if” scenarios using insight and critical thinking to evaluate and recommend solutions
  • Articulate findings on a regular basis to management
  • Provide FP&A ad-hoc analyses as needed

Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or comparable experience

Skill Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficient analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of US GAAP, quarterly earnings process and public company audit
  • Desire to consistently exceed expectations and take on more responsibility
  • Strong experience with Excel and modeling
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years FP&A experience (public company preferred)
  • Experience supporting a large products, operations, and or sales organization with commission forecasting preferred
  • Track record of supporting large departments (1,000+ employees)
