Manager/Senior Manager, Sales Operations, Proposal Center of Excellence

Avalere is seeking a Manager candidate to join the growing Proposal Center of Excellence in our Sales Operations Team.

Located in Washington, DC, Avalere works with a diverse range of clients spanning Fortune 500 life science companies, health plans, government agencies, advocacy and patient groups, and other organizations who seek to improve the healthcare system.

The Proposal CoE supports business development efforts across Avalere’s practice areas by managing the process to prepare proposals and statements of work (SOWs) from start to finish. The Manager will partner with key stakeholders, including consultants, account relationship managers, finance, accounting, and legal to draft and execute winning proposals and SOWs.

Responsibilities

  • Drafts proposals and SOWs for prospective clients in collaboration with account teams and practices
  • Create detailed, focused, and compelling proposals that articulate the value Avalere delivers to client engagements
  • Draft contracts that reflect the professional image of Avalere and detailed descriptions of the work product Avalere will produce
  • Enter and track progress on project opportunities in CRM and make updates aligned with contract development
  • Regularly communicate with team members, finance team, and leaders regarding draft document status
  • Create and maintain repository of SOWs and proposals; create and maintain templates as appropriate
  • Follow appropriate internal processes for document approvals and execution
  • Develop relationships and work closely with account teams, finance, and legal teams to maintain knowledge of best practices for SOW
  • preparation and ensure that proposals and SOWs adhere to best practices
  • Support creation of business and process documents as required
  • Answer proposal-related questions for stakeholders throughout the business
  • Support operations and growth of the Proposal CoE through development of new processes and procedures that facilitate innovation
  • Develop familiarity with the suite of Avalere and Inovalon’s services and products

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience using CRM tools, automated proposal systems, and content management tools
  • Strong understanding of documentation control, diligence, and review processes

  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Experience working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining positive relationships with colleagues to achieve solutions-oriented goals
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to meet tight deadlines; flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously

Experience Requirements

  • 4–8 years of relevant professional experience in proposal creation or contract management, ideally with exposure to large deals
