Market Access Intern

Practice: Market Access

Compensation: $20.00/hr

About the Role

Avalere’s Market Access Practice Interns will work alongside a broad set of subject matter experts in Avalere’s Market Access Practice, gaining insight into pressing issues that the practice helps clients understand and navigate. The Market Access Interns will also contribute to firm products and client deliverables.

Our Internship Program is a 10-week program commencing in June 2024 that will provide students the opportunity for professional development by building relationships, gaining consulting experience, learning about our industry, and preparing students with the experience needed to have a rewarding career with a purposefully built commercialization partner for the biopharmaceutical, medical technology, and wellness industries.

For the duration of the program, you will be given the knowledge, support, and training required to supercharge your career in your chosen area of specialization. Alongside having full access to our Career Experience Team, a suite of internal career experience platforms, and D&I employee network groups, you will be mentored by an expert in your chosen field.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct research and assist members of the Market Access team in the course of developing projects and deliverables for our clients.
  • Work independently and in cross-practice teams to contribute to the development and delivery of projects to clients.
  • Support project teams with tasks such as recording meeting minutes, sharing agendas, disseminating next steps from meetings, and scheduling internal and external meetings as directed by project managers and project leads.
  • Review external resources such as webinars and reports and provide summaries to internal team members.
  • Use content expertise, solid proof reading, and layout skills to build client deliverables.
  • As required by your college or university, develop a practicum based on a topic area of interest/practice need that includes a research component, development of a deliverable(e.g.,memo, presentation),and a final presentation to the practice.

Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements

Education Requirements

Rising college seniors, current seniors, or graduate student with relevant coursework or experience. Public health, health policy, applied sciences, and/or economics preferred, but other relevant coursework and experience may be considered.

  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Experience Requirements

  • Basic experience working with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Programming skills and/or data visualization skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work in Avalere’s office in Washington, DC, at least once a week.
