Practice Operations Manager

Avalere is seeking a Practice Operations Manager candidate to join its Health Economics & Advanced Analytics (HEAA) practice.

The HEAA practice works across healthcare sectors to quantify and communicate the real-world value of healthcare interventions and to align our clients’ business strategies with the evidentiary demands of an increasingly value-driven marketplace. We are driven by deep subject-matter expertise, differentiated and proprietary real-world data assets, and an emphasis on sound business strategy coupled with rigorous research and advanced analytic capabilities.

The position will play an integral role in ensuring optimal functioning of the practice through staffing coordination, project management, dataset inventory management, and business metrics reporting.


  • Coordinates practice staffing, ensuring efficient deployment of research associates, project managers, analysts, and programmers across client projects and other initiatives
  • Provides operational support to practice leadership through tracking of sales and revenue metrics and preparation of ad hoc reports and business documents
  • Works with subject-matter experts, IT, technical staff, vendors and partners, client teams, and other corporate functions to support the operational and financial success of projects and programs under management by the practice
  • Supports operational efficiency through regular auditing and cleanup of Avalere’s analytic environment
  • Proactively manages dataset inventory and purchasing of additional resources to ensure optimal access to internal and external assets
  • Organizes and leads project status updates, prepares and distributes progress reports, and corrects deviations from plans
  • Acts as practice liaison to corporate teams, including Finance and Accounting
  • May act as project manager during times when practice project volume is high, holding teams accountable to deadlines, removing roadblocks to their work, managing interdependencies, leveraging organizational resources and communicating progress and issues to management
  • Assists in the development of scopes of work, budgets, timelines, and other business documents as required
  • Identifies opportunities for new or improved processes for the above listed responsibilities and implements into practice

Education Requirements

  • BS or BA degree from accredited college or university required

Experience Requirements

  • At least 4–7 years of experience supporting teams, projects, and business initiatives in a consulting or data analytics environment
