Avalere is seeking a Project Manager candidate to join our Project Management Office.

The Project Manager will sit within the Project Management Office (PMO) and manage projects for the Strategic Customer Engagement team and other teams across the business. The Strategic Customer Engagement team helps clients anticipate and understand the implications of changes in the healthcare landscape, allowing them to better communicate their value to key stakeholders in the context of an evolving market. Our work covers a broad range of activities including developing strategic plans, creating customer-facing deliverables such as reports, briefs, applications, and websites, and training internal and customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, and administer project management–related activities for the multiple complex advisory services projects
  • Work with subject-matter experts , technical staff, vendors/partners, client teams, and others to ensure the operational and financial success of projects and programs under management
  • Manage projects by defining scope, schedules, deliverables, and risk plans
  • Organize and lead project status updates, prepare and distribute progress reports, and correct deviations from plans
  • Develop project teams by holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, managing interdependencies, leveraging organizational resources and communicating progress and issues to management
  • Assist in the development of scopes of work, budgets, timelines, and other business documents
  • Support the PMO in development and deployment of project processes and training to other project managers across the business
  • Develop and maintain a professional level of knowledge regarding Avalere’s and Inovalon’s services and products
  • Focus on regular and timely delivery of value

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • 4–6 plus years of experience managing complex projects/programs, with operational and financial responsibility
  • Experience in a PMO at a healthcare or communications/marketing firm highly desired
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to initiate and drive projects through to completion
  • Confidence and ability to influence team members and business partners toward common goals
  • Superior oral and written communications skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables
  • Responsive, action-oriented demeanor
  • Ability to build trust and cultivate relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Problem definition and resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project teams in parallel
  • Project management skills: project initiation, project plan creation, resource allocation, time/schedule management, risk management, budget tracking, prioritization, status reporting
  • Knowledge of PMBOK/PMI project management principles and theories
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet a bonus
  • Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
  • A positive, professional, and solution-oriented attitude

Educational Requirements

  • BS/BA degree from accredited college/university required
  • Project Management Professional or equivalent certification strongly preferred
