Avalere Health is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate team.

  • Perform contract review and revenue recognition for fixed price and time and materials-based contracts
  • Complete special projects, as required, to assist the business unit and the company in achieving its goals and objectives
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing and preparation of journal entries
  • Analyze data to identify trends and unusual variances to forecast
  • Analyze inter-company transactions
  • Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
  • Assist with billing- and revenue-related reconciliations
  • Interact with and provide data to external auditors for both quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices

Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline

Skill Requirements

  • CPA certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts; ability to work as an effective team member
  • Prior experience working in Deltek Vision or Oracle
  • Cooperative and service-oriented attitude; must be able to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously
  • High level of initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to use sound judgment to effectively solve problems within the scope of the position
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting or related field
