Senior Associate, Health Economics & Outcomes Research

Avalere Health is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Health Economics & Advanced Analytics practice.

The Health Economics & Advanced Analytics (HEAA) practice works with life sciences companies and other healthcare sectors to quantify and communicate the real-world value of healthcare interventions and to align our clients’ business strategies with the evidentiary demands of an increasingly value-driven marketplace. We are driven by deep subject matter expertise, differentiated and proprietary real-world data assets, and an emphasis on sound business strategy coupled with rigorous research and advanced analytic capabilities.

  • Provides qualitative and quantitative health economics and outcomes research support on HEAA projects . Research support can include clinical and economic literature reviews, development of study protocols and statistical analysis plans, quantitative analysis of patient-level data, and development of summary findings
  • Supports project teams from project initiation through to client delivery. In addition to research support, duties may include coordination of meetings, organization of project materials, client outreach, and management of deliverable review cycles
  • Utilizes critical thinking to solve complex client problems, with an emphasis on translating qualitative and quantitative research findings into clients’ value-oriented business strategies
  • Contributes to business development and sales efforts
  • Solves complex client issues in a timely and appropriate manner with some management oversight

Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in health policy, public policy, healthcare management, public health, public administration, health economics, business administration, law, or a relevant discipline

Skill Requirements

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to executives within and outside of the firm
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to support multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience using statistical software such as SAS, Stata or R to conduct health economic and outcomes research is preferred
  • Strong consulting acumen
  • Strong project management acumen
  • Baseline experience in health economics, economic evaluation of healthcare programs, epidemiology, or biostatistics welcomed but not required
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills that translate into positive relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Commitment to working in a fast-paced team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience; consulting experience preferred
