Farooq Tirmizi provides due diligence and advisory services to private equity firms investing in the healthcare sector.

He applies his background in banking and hedge funds to help Avalere’s financial sponsor clients understand the investing landscape in healthcare.

Prior to joining Avalere, Farooq was an investment consultant with Ruane, Cunniff, and Goldfarb, where he provided investment analysis and due diligence for the firm’s emerging markets hedge fund. Prior to that, he was chief financial correspondent with The Express Tribune, the affiliate of The New York Times in Pakistan, producing data-driven analysis for coverage of the country’s energy, chemical, and financial sectors.

Farooq has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BS from Georgetown University.
