Ian Woodworth maintains client relationships across healthcare stakeholders in providing background research, contract and scope writing, and project management.

He applies his background in drug discovery and healthcare economics to lead business development within the burgeoning sector field of cell & gene therapies.

Prior to joining Avalere, Ian held several analyst positions, most recently evaluating the Food and Drug Administration’s methodology of heavy metal quantification from dietary sources. Before graduate school, Ian spent 2 years at the Rockefeller University where he led now-published efforts to isolate and characterize a novel antibiotic against tuberculosis. Additionally, Ian interned at MedImmune, where he screened drug candidates against lung fibrosis in mouse models.

Ian has an MPH from the Johns Hopkins University and a BA in molecular biology from Colgate University. He plans to begin graduate coursework in science writing.
