Margia Argüello manages relationships with life sciences clients to deliver creative and strategic solutions.

She applies 18 years of experience in life sciences business development, healthcare project management, and research to a broad range of client projects.

Before joining Avalere, Margia served as a senior business development manager for the Maryland Department of Commerce, attracting and retaining life sciences investments and businesses in the region. Prior, she served as associate director for the Office of Innovation Initiatives at Johns Hopkins, designing platforms for entrepreneurs and supporting Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures’ accelerator. As an associate at Johns Hopkins Medicine International, she managed knowledge transfer and consulting projects for hospitals in Canada and Latin America. She also co-authored nutrition articles published in scientific journals, oversaw lab operations, and tracked biologics for a field study in Zambia.

Margia has a BA in biology and society from Cornell University, and an MSc in biotechnology, and MBA from the Johns Hopkins University. She is a mentor for the Maryland Technology Council’s Venture Mentoring Services.
