Kindred Partners with Avalere and Inovalon to Support Value-Based Payment in Post-Acute Care

Avalere and Inovalon have entered into a multi-year agreement with Kindred Healthcare, Inc., the nation’s largest provider of post-acute care (PAC) services, to deploy the power of data and analytics to engage payers. The combined solutions will result in a data-driven platform that will support Kindred in improving clinical outcomes and promoting coordinated, efficient care under new value-based payment models.

As Medicare and Medicaid evolve towards bundling and capitated arrangements, health plans and providers are demanding post-acute care solutions that deliver value. These solutions will enable Kindred to contract for value across the post-acute care service spectrum.
The new solutions will harness Inovalon’s vast datasets, advanced analytics, and clinical decision support platforms in combination with Avalere’s extensive experience in healthcare economics and PAC strategy. Hospitals and health plans will be able to use patient-level assessments of post-acute care value as a basis for site selection and contracting.
