Matthew Downey provides due diligence and advisory support to private equity firms and portfolio companies investing in the healthcare sector.

He applies his background in health IT and healthcare administration to buy-side and sell-side diligence work in areas such as physician services, home health, and revenue-cycle management.

Before joining Avalere, Matthew was director of business development and strategy for WEDI, a health IT trade association, where he worked with a cross section of industry stakeholders on administrative simplification and broader interoperability-related issues.

Matthew holds a BA in economics and a Master of Healthcare Administration from The George Washington University.
