
Megan Caruso manages quality improvement projects for healthcare organizations, applying her background in mixed methods research, quality measurement, data collection, and value-based payment program design.
In recent projects, Megan has helped clients address persistent health issues in underserved patient populations, differentiate medical products in saturated markets, propose new quality measures to fill gaps in the existing market, and map the quality landscape most relevant to clients’ products.
Before joining Avalere, Megan Caruso served as an advisory services analyst at Mathematica, a policy research firm, where she worked across the Human Services and Health Divisions in data collection, policy research, and program improvement. She supported CMS across a range of quality reporting and payment programs, focused on Medicare beneficiaries in skilled nursing facilities and hospitals. She developed expertise in quality reporting program implementation, program design, quality measure development and maintenance, public reporting, and stakeholder engagement and education.
Megan holds a BA magna cum laude in international relations with highest distinction and psychology with honors from California State University of Chico.
