New Hires Bolster Avalere Health’s Market Access Practice

Two new additions expand expertise in drug pricing, payer engagement, CMS coverage and payment, and strategic market access and commercialization.

Avalere Health welcomes Shalini Parekh and Nathan Budischak as principals in its Market Access practice. They will support Avalere’s clients in navigating the evolving healthcare landscape and positioning of market strategy

“Shalini and Nathan are welcome additions to the Market Access practice, which supports life sciences clients across the product life cycle,” said Lance Grady, Market Access Practice Director at Avalere Health. “Our clients will benefit from their robust expertise with issues related to commercialization, product pricing, and reimbursement and access strategy.”

About Shalini Parekh

Shalini Parkekh joins Avalere as a principal. She has deep expertise in analyzing the impact of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) alternative payment models and other federal programs. Before joining Avalere, Shalini was a vice president at The Lewin Group where she managed the quantitative evaluation of the CMS’s Oncology Care Model (OCM) and led a team that assessed the impact of OCM practice transformation requirements and financial incentives on claims-based payment, utilization, and quality of care outcome measures. Before that, she spent time directing CMS contracts focused on the Medicare Part D prescription drug program at Acumen, LLC.

“I am excited to join Avalere’s Market Access practice and look forward to working with clients on data-driven approaches to inform reimbursement and access strategies related to CMS’s payment models and policies,” said Shalini Parekh.

Shalini has a master’s in economics from the University of California, San Diego, and a Bachelor of Science in economics and mathematics from the University of Southern California.

About Nathan Budischak

Nathan Budischak joins Avalere as a principal. He works with life sciences clients on pricing, market access, contracting, and gross-to-net strategies across commercial, government, and institutional payers. Nathan comes to Avalere from Jazz Pharmaceuticals where he built strategy and analytics around product pricing, payer/PBM contracting, new indication launch, authorized generic entry, gross-to-net forecasting, and patient-support program effectiveness. Prior to that, Nathan was a senior consultant at IQVIA, where he led commercial insights and strategy consulting for top pharmaceutical clients.

“I look forward to supporting life sciences companies with market access commercialization strategies leveraging Avalere’s robust data sets to meet the needs of its clients,” said Nathan Budischak.

Nathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in bioengineering and Master of Science in Engineering in nanotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania.
